The Haunted Youth live is an overwhelming experience, as we have seen since their debut Dawn of the Freak (2022). The Flemish band took their time to capture that intensity on their second album – and they succeeded. On Boys Cry Too, the shoegaze sound is more patient – just listen to the three-minute build-up before opening track 'in my head' explodes – but certainly no less intense. They clearly listened more to My Bloody Valentine, although The Haunted Youth remains undoubtedly more pleasant to listen to.
