Why Velvet Music?

Velvet Music has been a trusted place for music lovers in the Netherlands for years. A place for vinyl, CDs, exclusives, imports, and new discoveries — online and in-store.

What once started as an independent record store grew into a destination for anyone looking for vinyl, CDs, exclusives, imports, and new discoveries. Yet one thing has always remained the same: our love for music is central.

In an era where music is becoming increasingly digital, we still believe in the magic of a physical record in your hands. Opening a gatefold sleeve, admiring large-format artwork, and the moment the needle touches the first groove — that remains special.

A real record store, run by real music lovers

Velvet Music is not an anonymous webshop. Behind every order and every recommendation are people who listen to, collect, and discover music daily themselves.

Our physical stores still form the heart of Velvet Music. There, we help customers with new releases, special pressings, gifts, turntables, collectors' editions, and forgotten classics. Whether you're looking for the latest pop release from Sabrina Carpenter, a jazz re-issue from Miles Davis, or a rare indie pressing — we're happy to help you find it.

It is precisely this combination of online convenience and physical expertise that makes Velvet Music different from many large webshops.

A growing destination for K-pop fans

K-pop has grown into an important part of our collection in recent years. That's why we've paid extra attention to albums, merch, and exclusive releases from popular groups and artists.

Fans of BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, and NewJeans can find both new releases and special imports at Velvet Music.

Blue Note Authorized Dealer

For jazz lovers, we are proud to be a Blue Note Authorized Dealer. This gives us access to high-quality jazz re-issues and special editions from one of the most iconic labels in music history.

From classic albums by John Coltrane to modern jazz releases — quality and love for music are always paramount.

Record Store Day thrives at Velvet Music

For us, Record Store Day is much more than just a sales day. It is a celebration of music culture, independent record stores, and the community around vinyl.

During Record Store Day, we regularly organize:

• In-store performances
• Signing sessions
• Exclusive releases
• Special promotions
• Early openings

For many collectors, it has become a fixed tradition to experience Record Store Day with Velvet Music.

More than just a webshop

Although our website helps thousands of music lovers find new music daily, we still strongly believe in personal contact and genuine service.

We help customers daily with:

• Advice on pressings
• Differences between vinyl editions
• Delivery times for imports
• Pre-orders
