You don't need a biography. The life of Dua Saleh unfolds entirely musically on Of Earth & Wires. Her alternative R&B navigates between Sudan and Minnesota, between traditional oud playing and the slick Minneapolis sound, between industrial clatter, the heavenly vocals of Justin Vernon, and the jazz poetry of Aja Monet. Saleh doesn't sound truly at home anywhere, but it is precisely this that makes her latest album captivating and dynamic.
