How is it possible that this wonderful collaboration between the late dub legend Lee "Scratch" Perry and Berlin IDM duo Mouse On Mars has been shelved for so long? The three entered the studio together in 2019, although the Germans probably tweaked it considerably since then. Perry’s delightful mumbling and moaning swims here in a rather experimental electro-acoustic landscape – with dub, kraut and jazz influences. It often brings to mind the equally experimental, intergenerational collaboration between Gil Scott-Heron and Richard Russell.
