Director Chloe Zhao and composer Max Richter work well together, as is evident in the melodrama Hamnet - about the marriage between William Shakespeare and Agnes Hathaway. Both love silence: music should be an enrichment, not a drastic measure. The compositions here are precise, clearly inspired by music from the Elizabethan era, yet as modern as one might expect from Richter.
