Amsterdam's Queen's Pleasure can certainly plod along. On "Stunt Double," it often seems like, in the arduous search for the perfect pop song, they've finally decided to make a racket. And rightly so. The band is at its best when their punky power pop seems to have been duct-taped together. It's anything but nonchalant, though: the infectious melodies pack a considerable emotional punch.
