It took a while, but here it is: 'Siamese Dream', featuring the original artwork for the first time since its initial release in 1993. The Smashing Pumpkins' second studio album is considered one of the most influential rock albums of the '90s. With 'Siamese Dream', Billy Corgan and James Iha aimed to create an album that sticks in your head. Not because of the earworms, but because of its overwhelming quality. That overwhelming quality lies in Bitch Vig's production, the use of Big Muff pedals that produce that typical grunge sound, but Corgan and Iha layered on guitars until the sound absorbed everything.
"Siamese Dream," featuring the singles "Disarm" and "Today," established The Smashing Pumpkins, a name that only grew further in the years to come. Pitchfork wrote an interesting long-read about "Siamese Dream," awarding the album a 9.1.
